Misiones
Subtropical rainforest, red earth and one of the largest waterfall systems on earth.
Quick answer
Rent in Puerto Iguazú town for restaurants, supermarkets and the best value, or on the jungle-edge road toward the national park for pool houses and quiet. Two full days is the right length: one for the Argentine side, one for the Brazilian side.
Overview
Iguazú is a short, intense destination: two or three nights is usually enough, and the falls themselves justify the trip. The Argentine side holds roughly 80% of the circuits, including the walkway over the Devil's Throat.
Rentals cluster in Puerto Iguazú town and along Ruta 12, where houses with pools sit among the red earth and rainforest between town and the park entrance.
Puerto Iguazú is the practical base — restaurants, supermarkets, bus links and 20 minutes to the park gate. Ruta 12 properties trade convenience for jungle setting and pools, which matter in the heat.
The town: walkable, well-served and closest to the Triple Frontier viewpoint.
Houses and lodges among the trees between town and the national park, most with pools.
A handful of properties minutes from the gate, ideal for an early first entry.
